About us

The School of Humanities of Mariano Galvez University is an institution dedicated to the integral formation of professionals in four fundamental areas: Education, Languages, Sociolinguistics and Social Work.

Its commitment is to reach levels of academic excellence that are aligned with the changing needs and demands of contemporary society. The purpose of this faculty is to prepare individuals who possess a high degree of scientific, ethical and socially conscious competence. The professionals, researchers, technicians and teachers that emerge from its academic programs are guided by ethical responsibility and openness to change and development. To achieve these objectives, the Faculty of Humanities is based on an integral approach that combines teaching, research and community engagement, through which it seeks to ensure that society has access to the benefits of scientific knowledge, technology and culture.

The School of Humanities of Mariano Galvez University presents itself as an educational entity committed to human development and social progress, while promoting the flourishing of science and culture for the benefit of all.

Mission

To train university professionals in the area of education and social work, with academic excellence, scientifically competent, ethically responsible and socially open to progressive change to exercise a leadership role for the promotion of a better quality of life and a sustainable environment, as well as for the understanding, formulation and solution of problems through the innovation of higher education, Christian values and leading-edge technology.

Vision

To be a leading faculty in the field of research and training of educators and social workers in an environment of freedom and acceptance of the supreme values of Christianity, committed to the economic, social, political and cultural development of the country, in permanent interaction with the national environment, with a renewed vocation of service and spirit of solidarity.

Objectives

To provide training options for the different Schools of Education, Language, Sociolinguistics and Social Work and their different specialties at all undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels.

Dean’s message

As Dean, I thank God and the UMG authorities for the privilege of accompanying you in this new stage that will change not only your lives, but also the lives of those who will benefit from your dedication and knowledge in education and social work in the future.

Our

team

Professional in the area of information systems, education and e-learning. Systems Engineer with a Master's degree in Higher Education (Magna Cum Laude) and in Self-Evaluation of Higher Education Careers from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. She also has postgraduate studies in other topics of Implementation and development of e-learning Projects (online learning) IdeL by Inwent and Educal. Expert in new learning technologies through the Internet by the Tele-akademie Hochschule Furtwangen, Germany. With studies as a peer evaluator of virtual courses through the Open ECBCheck Review Training in Turin, Italy. Workshops received on Structures from Dr. Spencer Kagan and participation in the Kagan Cooperative Learning Institute in Orlando, Florida. Competency Assessment in Distributed Education (CADE) workshop (virtual).

Learning methodologies

Humanities combines disciplines that explore human thought and expression, fostering a critical and reflective approach. Through the study of literature, philosophy, the arts, and languages, students develop a deep understanding of diverse cultures. The curriculum emphasizes textual analysis and intellectual production, preparing graduates for teaching and cultural management. Communication and argumentation skills are key in training professionals to contribute to social and cultural dialogue. The goal is to train individuals with an ethical and humanistic perspective who are motivated to make a positive impact on society.
