Education not only is achieved during classroom hours but it can also come from other moments and places. Additionally the students gather in groups to study, develop projects and share information all of which are used in various areas on the Campus such as: hallways, libraries, gardens, cafeterias, and reunion areas. For this reason it is necessary to fill these areas with technology and furniture that help develop their activities in accordance to the needs. It should be noted that in these places is where informal learning take place.

Based on the above, the UMG also uses a model framework to implement informal learning spaces which incorporate the concepts of collaboration, socialization and flexibility to support informal learning which in turn also incorporates modern technological means.
